Troy Johnson / Owner
My name is Troy Johnson was born in Orange County grew up and reside in Westminster, California. From the day I was born I always had a dog and cat and have never stopped being amazed how much love and companionship they give each of us. I originally graduated from cosmetology school (hair cutting) a number of years ago however found myself taking a different path out of the area for a few months. During that time I fell in love with a five (5) pound all black teacup poodle that I named Diesel. He became my best friend and went everywhere with me of course due to his size he could be hidden easily. Diesel was so full of life until one December five years ago when he was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease. There was a chance that Diesel would not make it through the surgery and also a chance that he would never walk again but I wanted to give him that chance. He made it through the surgery but his hind legs never recovered and remain paralyzed to this day.
I spent the first few months after his surgery sleeping on the floor with him every night because I did not want him to be alone and was afraid if he was on my bed he would fall. Due to the surgery Diesel needs to wear diapers which I change 3-4 times a day. I have also altered a baby stroller so that I can take Diesel for a walk everyday, which he lives for. The one thing I forgot to tell you is that he can run really fast on his two front legs and when you mention “Walk” he can’t run fast enough to the front door. All of the neighbors in the neighborhood know and love Diesel.
Knowing that Diesel was a specials needs dog I was always nervous about his grooming and was constantly looking for a pet groomer with great compassion and love that would understand his needs. I found that special person and she taught me how to groom. Four years ago I started dog grooming myself, heck if I could cut peoples hair why not dogs. Many people do not get a chance to do what they truly love and I am taking that chance. The Paw Lounge has been a dream of mine for the last four years and is no longer a dream. I will be opening the doors to all of you who love animals as I do. Please know that every pet that walks through my door will be treated and cared for like Diesel.
